Guzhu (Chinese: 孤竹; pinyin: Guzhu) is a vassal state of Shang and Zhou dynasty located in southern part of modern Hebei province. The kingdom is tribal in origin and had close relations with Shang Emperors. During Western Zhou dynasty, the Lichi and Shanrong tribes rose up in the north-west and north-east respectively, causing concerns to Guzhu southern neighbors: Qi and Yan states. In 664 BC, Guzhu was conquered by a Qi-Yan coalition during an expedition against the Shanrong.
