Since commencing operations in 1991 as an independent, not-for-profit organisation, SIAC has established a track record for providing best in class arbitration services to the global business community. SIAC arbitration awards have been enforced in many jurisdictions including Australia, China, Hong Kong SAR, India, Indonesia, Jordan, Thailand, UK, USA and Vietnam, amongst other New York Convention signatories. SIAC is a global arbitral institution providing cost-competitive and efficient case management services to parties from all over the world. SIAC’s Board of Directors and its Court of Arbitration consists of eminent lawyers and professionals from all over the world. The Board is responsible for overseeing SIAC's operations, business strategy and development, as well as corporate governance matters. The Court’s main functions include the appointment of arbitrators, as well as overall supervision of case administration at SIAC. SIAC has an experienced international panel of over 400 expert arbitrators from over 40 jurisdictions. Appointments are made on the basis of our specialist knowledge of an arbitrator's expertise, experience, and track record. SIAC’s panel has over 100 experienced arbitrators in the areas of Energy, Engineering, Procurement and Construction from more than 25 jurisdictions. The SIAC Rules provide a state-of-the-art procedural framework for efficient, expert and enforceable resolution of international disputes of all sizes and complexities involving parties from diverse legal systems and cultures. SIAC’s full-time staff manage all the financial aspects of the arbitration, including: • Regular rendering of accounts • Collecting deposits towards the costs of arbitration • Processing the Tribunal's fees and expenses SIAC supervises and monitors the progress of the case. SIAC’s scrutiny process enhances the enforceability of awards. SIAC’s administration fees are highly competitive.

On 11 October 2024, YSIAC organised a seminar at the Peking University School of Transnational Law in Shenzhen, China on Education and Career Development of International Arbitration Practitioners. The seminar was opened with welcome remarks by Prof Mark Feldman, Interim Dean, School of Transnational Law, Peking University, and an opening speech by Gloria Lim, CEO, SIAC. This was followed by a dialogue and Q&A session with Lucy Reed, President, SIAC Court of Arbitration, that was moderated by Xin Liu, Member, YSIAC Council. Moderated by Cunyuan ZHANG, Director & Head of China, Chief Representative of Shanghai Representative Office, SIAC, the panel speakers Shining Guo, 罗志强, Yuxian Zhao, and Vera Z., shared their personal experiences and views on education and career development for international dispute resolution practitioners. We would like to extend our appreciation to the speakers who participated in this seminar, and Peking University School of Transnational Law for hosting the seminar.

The Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC) held a seminar titled "Cooperation, Innovation and Trending Issues of International Arbitration" on 9 October 2024 in Shenzhen, China. Gloria Lim, CEO, SIAC and Huang Yuanbin, Deputy President of Shenzhen Lawyers Association, Director of Lawyers Working Commission of Futian District Lawyers Association, opened the seminar with welcome addresses, followed by a keynote speech delivered by Lucy Reed, President, SIAC Court of Arbitration. The first panel discussion titled ‘Cooperation and Innovation of International Arbitration in the Greater Bay Area’, was moderated by Lin Yifei, and featured panellists Huang Guoyong, Joe Liu, Wu Xueting, and Cunyuan ZHANG, Director & Head (China), SIAC. The second panel discussion titled ‘Hot Issues of Overseas Arbitration for Chinese Companies’, was moderated by Alan Li, Member, YSIAC Council. Panellists included Aaron Chen Zhuoying, Frank Huang, Tony Lai, and Li Lu.
