Participants: derivatives clearing organizations (DCO), futures commission merchants (FCM), FCM customers, end-users, custodians, proprietary traders, public interest groups, state regulators, and others. Goal: the goal of the roundtable is to gather information and receive expert input from a wide variety of stakeholder groups. The initiative will involve the integration of Nasdaq's strategic clearing platform, known as Nasdaq Real-Time Clearing, into FIA Tech's Trade Data Network. This particular network combines trade data from various sources to create a shared, dependable source of clearing activity. This integration not only streamlines the process but also enhances the volume and quality of post-trade data available to FIA Tech members. Proud to share that Nasdaq CSD has become the first European CSD to gain full connectivity to all T2S markets through Clearstream’s German central securities depository. This pioneering cooperation provides Nasdaq CSD’s participants with access to a large pool of European markets for securities settlement and asset servicing. More specifically: · Nasdaq CSD adopts Clearstream’s Investor CSD solution, granting Baltic banks direct access to all TARGET2-Securities (T2S) markets. · The partnership reduces cross-border settlement fees for foreign securities. · Nasdaq CSD is the first Central Securities Depository (CSD) in Europe to implement this service. #BalticMarket Clearstream #PostTrade #CMU

#Eurex saw a 16% increase in total trading volume, reaching 154.6 million contracts in August 2024. 👉 Interest rate derivatives: +24% to 68.2 million contracts  👉 Equity derivatives: +22% to 20.8 million contracts  👉 Index derivatives: +5% to 64.6 million contracts  👉 OTC Clearing: Notional volumes up 11% to EUR 36,321 billion Eurex Repo maintained a significant daily term adjusted volume of EUR 233.7 billion. #GCPooling volumes also demonstrated strong market engagement, achieving EUR 125.8 billion in August.   All detailed statistics and figures can be found here: https://bit.ly/4gcVOZ1 

Abaxx Commodity Futures Exchange and Clearinghouse has selected ION’s XTP technology to support its building of new markets for the ongoing energy transition. The Abaxx Exchange, which began trading in Singapore on 28 June, has teamed up with ION to offer robust, scalable, secure post-trade clearing and risk solutions. XTP is crucial for exchange clearing members using the ION technology as it enables them to source all trades via the Abaxx Clearinghouse API and perform account transfers, trade splits, and give-up/ take-up processes. The DCP team achieved another milestone in the European market this week by doing the first ever block trade in the #DAX Daily (#0DTE) Options! 🇩🇪 Dax Dailies were launched 5 months ago and up to now have traded 100% on screen. A high screen share is healthy for a product, so it is promising to see Eurex's Daily Options have a much higher screen share than the regular monthlies (80% in #SX5E and now just under 100% in DAX). But no matter how liquid the screens are in a product, there will always be times when people will have more size to do than the screen can absorb, and that is why IMC Trading's Direct Counterparty (DCP) team was set up. So for me the optimal screen share is high but less than 100% (DCP team gotta eat 😄).

The Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC)’s Fixed Income Clearing Corporation, in a recent rule filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), proposed changes to two clearing models that it hopes will be seen as the CCP’s version of FCM and done away for repo clearing members. But both need a close read and one is different enough from the OTC derivatives clearing model that we have some reservations about adoption. More on #finadium: https://lnkd.in/ePB65KUH
