In September, we held our Global 5k with on-site races organized at 56 Google offices across the globe! Thank you to the 12,832 Googlers who participated in the 5k, and 1,042 Googler volunteers who helped organize races in their cities. The initiative has raised over €7,114 for Action Against Hunger so far, an organization that’s pushing back against the predictable, preventable, and treatable problem of hunger around the world. Thank you to everyone who joined us and made this event possible! #LifeAtGoogle

This is incredible!
Now provide all your employees with affordable housing to rent and buy. Google and other big high-tech recruiting thousands started our housing problem when they failed to build affordable housing for new employees and low-paid interns. Google needs to step up today and start building new homes for their employees. Google bought thousands of acres of land for this purpose. (they said) Now they decide the real estate market won't give them the profits they were expecting. There isnt enough affordable housing for anyone anymore. This has been part of our housing problem. No more excuses from such a wealthy corporation gobbling up our housing. Start building now. High tech will continue to engulf our housing until they build some for their own. #BuildAffordableHousingNow #HomeSweetHome https://arstechnica.com/tech-policy/2023/11/google-cost-cutting-ends-deal-to-build-thousands-of-affordable-housing-units/

This is incredible! 🎉 The Global 5k showcases the amazing impact of teamwork, community, and collective action. Google is one of the few companies that understands pride month and activism isn't a cosplay and very regularly works very hard to show support to queer, POC, and otherwise marginalized communities. They're also one of the few companies that represents diversity correctly, as many other companies will use specific popular "flavors" of marginalization to appease the masses without properly representing the marginalized amongst the marginalized. Tokens are for LLMs, thanks for being such a great support, Google!
That's an incredible initiative! It's amazing to see the global Google community coming together for such a meaningful cause. Huge thanks to the volunteers and participants who contributed to making this event a success, and to raise funds for Action Against Hunger. Together, we are making a real difference in the fight against global hunger. #ImpactBeyondTech #LifeAtGoogle
