Summary

[edit]
Description
English: The blue and yellow macaw (Ara ararauna), also known as the blue-and-gold macaw, is a large South American parrot with blue upper parts and bright orange underparts on its head. It is a member of a large group of neotropical parrots known as macaws. It lives in the wild (especially varzea, but also in the open terra firme or barren forest), forest and savannah of tropical South America. They are well-known for agriculture because of their vivid colors, their ability to communicate, their easy access to markets, and their close association with people. They can also live for 65-70 years.
