Português: O "Ginásio Baiano" fora fundado em Salvador no ano de 1858 pelo futuro Barão de Macaúbas, Abílio César Borges; em 1871 este o transferiu para o cônego João Nepomuceno Rocha que mudou o nome para "Colégio São José"; em 1876 uma nova mudança de proprietário, adquirido por João Florêncio Gomes, deu-lhe a denominação final de "Ginásio São José". Era, ao seu tempo, o mais antigo colégio particular da capital baiana. Litografia publicada em 1919 pela revista "Bahia Illustrada", do Rio de Janeiro. |
