Geonotices not syncing (Musikbot II)

[edit]

We made some changes,
Your bot
Did not

Please kindly make
It do
Thank you!

And I just found the discussion in the archives, making it load the JSON directly sounds like a great idea if that's possible. I don't think the validation would be a huge loss, especially since we now have Wikipedia:Geonotice/Map for checking locations. the wub "?!" 23:00, 21 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Grr, seems like it got "stuck" again without any hint as to what went wrong. I've restarted the job and it seems to be running fine now. I really shouldn't have to add an auto-killer… but I will if this happens again.
It should be possible to have the gadget load the JSON directly, using the package option. I don't have time to help with that right now, I'm afraid. If the bot keeps failing though, I may be pressured to do something.
Apologies for the inconvenience, MusikAnimal talk 07:04, 22 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, don't worry about it! the wub "?!" 09:53, 22 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

MusikBot II FixPP task

[edit]

Hi. The Prayut Chan-o-cha page was semi-protected for one year from 16 August and had the Pp-blp template added, but this was (presumably inadvertently) removed by an editor the following day. Since then, the bot still hasn't restored the template. Is this expected behaviour? --Paul_012 (talk) 05:01, 23 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

No. My guess is there was some hiccup, either with Toolforge (which seems to be happening a lot lately) or the bot itself, and it simply missed this one. The bot combs the protection log to keep track of where it left off, so if for whatever reason things failed after the cached log ID was written, it will never revisit older log entries. I hope this issue isn't widespread! For now, I've just manually re-added the template. MusikAnimal talk 18:20, 23 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Invitation to participate in a research

[edit]

Hello,

The Wikimedia Foundation is conducting a survey of Wikipedians to better understand what draws administrators to contribute to Wikipedia, and what affects administrator retention. We will use this research to improve experiences for Wikipedians, and address common problems and needs. We have identified you as a good candidate for this research, and would greatly appreciate your participation in this anonymous survey.

You do not have to be an Administrator to participate.

The survey should take around 10-15 minutes to complete. You may read more about the study on its Meta page and view its privacy statement .

Please find our contact on the project Meta page if you have any questions or concerns.

Kind Regards,

WMF Research Team
