This paper presents a method that can construct a surface with a thin region or sharp edges from particles. The surface is constructed in two stages.
From the particle locations Blinn builds an additive scalar potential field which is subsequently isocontoured to produce the final surface.
In this method, an isosurface is extracted from a scalar field that is constructed from a sum of radial basis functions that are placed at each particle center.
