When David Tennant wed his wife, Georgia Tennant, in 2011, he not only gained a teammate for life, but he also added a bonus son to his family. In the years following their wedding, David and Georgia went on to welcome four more children, creating one big, happy family. The couple are known to share small glimpses of their life on social media, but according to David, the couple won't be oversharing anytime soon.
"We're not quite as squeamish as we were," David told The Guardian in July 2020 of opening up a bit more when it comes to his home life. "I don't think we'll ever be sharing pictures of our children in Hello! Magazine, but I think a lot of that comes from an insecurity about being uncovered or invaded. The longer you're together, the less that feels like a threat."
David also once shared why he and Georgia take their kids' privacy so seriously.

There’s never been a better year to be a David Tennant fan – the man’s the very definition of “booked and busy”.
You could have been forgiven for thinking he’d had a pretty unbeatable year back in 2005, when (among other things) he starred in two of that year’s biggest TV and film successes, both beginning his tenure as the Tenth Doctor in Doctor Who and playing Barty Crouch Jr in Harry Potter and The Goblet Of Fire.
But almost 20 years later, Tennant’s demand has only continued growing, so much so that these days it’s almost easier to list the blockbuster shows and franchises that don’t involve David Tennant.
Add to that acting roles for Georgia Tennant, his wife, and three of their five children (so far!), and there’s a whole smorgasbord of Tennant talent on offer.
Let’s take a look at what...

Georgia Tennant has once again left David Tennant fans in hysterics with a tweet about her husband.
The actor posted a screenshot of a text exchange with Doctor Who actor David on Sunday (5 February), which happened to be the birthday of their Staged co-star Michael Sheen.
Georgia had texted David to say “it’s Michael’s birthday”, seemingly reminding him to send their friend a message. After getting no answer, she replied to her own text with: “David?”
Hours later, when there was still no response, she sent a message, comedically hinting that David might have been hiding away for the day.
“No reception in the basement?” she sent, to which David answered: “Send water...”
Georgia uploaded the photo on social media alongside the post: “Happy Birthday @michaelsheen . Thanks for the respite x.”
Sheen’s partner Anna Lundberg replied to the tweet: “Can I come live in yours? For a break?...

One of Taskmaster’s most recurring jokes is that Alex Horne is the show’s lackey. The affable, awkward assistant is described as “little Alex Horne” by host Greg Davies, even though the hit comedy series was actually his idea. But now he’s breaking out. Horne has his own comedy series called The Horne Section TV Show (Channel 4), about his fictional quest to create his own comedy series called “The Horne Section TV Show”, with his real-life band, who are called… The Horne Section. Still with me? Buckle up; we’re getting meta.
And meta it is: the show opens during a recording of Taskmaster, with Davies – clearly hamming up his tyrannical on-screen persona – berating his co-host to the audience while Alex (Horne playing himself with extra humility) fidgets in the wings. Alex is a man with great ideas, worn down by years of TV bureaucracy and living in Davies’ shadow.

Staged is returning for a third season and the comedy series will have a new home. Episodes will air on BritBox in the UK and likely in the US, as well. The first season of the series was released on Hulu, but episodes are no longer available on that streaming service.
A British comedy, Staged stars David Tennant and Michael Sheen with Simon Evans, Georgia Tennant, Anna Lundberg, and Lucy Eaton ins supporting roles. The series launched during the pandemic and saw fictionalized versions of Tennant and Sheen trying to rehearse a play during lockdown over Zoom. The second season followed "real" versions of the actors coping with the idea that Staged was going to be remade as an American series, without Sheen or Tennant. A New Year's special was released last December 31st on BritBox's YouTube channel.

You can get a double dose of Alex Horne on your TV tonight, as his brand-new six-part sitcom The Horne Section TV Show premieres on All4 today.
Horne will be playing a fictionalised version of himself, who tires of being Greg Davies’ little assistant, and decides to pitch his own late-night music chat show on Channel 4, featuring his band The Horne Section, to be filmed at his chaotic home.
Irreverent and sometimes surreal, the humour is self-aware and silly, with the lovable blend of comedy and catchy music that The Horne Section is known for. It’s a little bit scrappy and homemade, but benefits from not taking itself too seriously, and grows in confidence over the first three episodes as it carves out its own identity.
Desiree Burch is excellent, high-energy fun as the frustrated producer, Greg Davies’ particular brand of petulant, egotistical hilarity is in full force,...

Michael Sheen recently went viral for an epic ‘pre-match’ speech to the Welsh football team on A League of Their Own – so much so that he was actually invited to address the Welsh World Cup squad for real – but anyone who’s seen a Michael Sheen role won’t have been remotely surprised he had such a rousing monologue in him.
The man has range, charisma, and an extraordinary talent for channelling the characteristics of real people without resorting to impersonation. He’s also clearly game for anything, as the news he’ll be playing Coleen Rooney’s lawyer in Channel 4’s newly announced courtroom drama Vardy v Rooney shows. "House of the Dragon" moved into the back half of its 10-episode first season this week with a time jump that ushered in a whole bunch of new faces and wigs. Some of the new actors are playing older versions of characters we've already met, as in the case of Emma D'Arcy and Olivia Cooke, who have taken over for the departing Milly Alcock and Emily Carey as Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen and Queen Alicent Hightower, respectively. Others are playing their children, adolescent and teen characters we're just now meeting or getting to know for the first time, such as young Prince Aegon Targaryen, played by Ty Tennant.
What's that you say? A Tennant on "House of the Dragon?" In this economy? It's true, and this is the same Ty Tennant who briefly acted with his adoptive father, David Tennant, in the recent PBS and BBC One adaptation of "Around the World in 80 Days.

Warning: contains major spoilers for House of the Dragon episode 6: ‘The Princess and the Queen’
In ‘The Princess and the Queen’, House of the Dragon whipped through a great deal of information in a short space of time. There were new royal heirs and new dragons; new allies, new enemies and brand-new cast members to play them. We saw that Alicent and Rhaenyra’s friendship had not been repaired in the past decade at King’s Landing – far from it. The battle lines between the Queen and the King’s heir are now firmly drawn. Rumours (rightly) questioned the legitimacy of Rhaenyra’s sons, bursting the bubble she’d formed with paramour Ser Harwin Strong, and forcing her family to relocate to Dragonstone.
After Alicent’s father Otto’s banishment from court and her estrangement from Rhaenyra, the Queen was friendless, her only allies the bitter, devout Ser Criston...

The Game of Thrones prequel series, House of the Dragon, stars many famous faces – from Matt Smith and Paddy Considine to Olivia Cooke.
A relative newcomer reportedly joining these actors on screen is 20-year-old Ty Tennant, the son of Doctor Who star David Tennant and his wife, the actor Georgia Tennant. David adopted Georgia’s son Ty back in 2011, the same year the couple got married.
It has not yet been officially disclosed who Ty is playing in the HBO show, but it is thought that he is portraying a teenage version of Prince Aegon Targaryen, after Georgia posted a picture of her son at the series premiere with the hashtag #aegontargaryen.

This post contains spoilers for The Sandman season one and beyond.
“Ideas in abundance.” Believe it or not, that’s a curse pronounced by Morpheus in “Calliope,” one of the best stories in The Sandman. “Ideas in abundance” sounds like a particularly strange curse for The Sandman, the seminal Neil Gaiman comic book series so rich in concepts and themes that the Netflix adaptation retains much of its depth, even as it necessarily cuts or reimagines some elements. Fans of the series will get to see more of those abundant ideas soon, as Netflix has announced a surprise 11th episode to The Sandman season 1, which adapts not only “Calliope” but also another fan-favorite tale, “A Dream of a Thousand Cats.” Both stories flesh out Dream’s world and the rules of the Dreaming but “Calliope” has deep implications for Morpheus’s larger career arc, paving the way for the end of his story.

Dreams don’t always have a habit of coming true, especially when it comes to Netflix giving the green light to people’s favorite shows. While many fans assumed that The Sandman Season 2 is a lock, the Master of the Dreaming himself, Neil Gaiman, says otherwise.
Gaiman posted a cryptic tweet to his Twitter account on Friday, referencing a bonus episode for the first season that’s available to watch now. Before Gaiman revealed the nature of his mysterious message, a fan asked if he was confirming a Season 2 pick-up for the series. Unfortunately, Gaiman says the future of The Sandman is uncertain, and Netflix is playing a game of wait-and-see before opening their wallet for another journey into the Dreaming.
According to Gaiman, Netflix wants to see how The Sandman performs throughout August before committing to The Sandman Season 2. You know what this means, don’t you? It’s...

Netflix has released a surprise two-part bonus episode for The Sandman.
Fans had speculated about the possibility of a bonus episode earlier this week when the streamer deleted a YouTube video that reportedly contained unaired footage.
Adapted from Neil Gaiman’s graphic novels of the same name, the 10-part drama series covers 16 editions of the 75-part comic.
It follows the titular Sandman (played by Tom Sturridge), who has been held prisoner for centuries and must travel across worlds and timelines to mend the chaos that’s ensued in his absence.
The new bonus episode covers additional stories from issues 17 and 18 of The Sandman, including an animated version of “A Dream of A Thousand Cats” and a live-action adaptation of “Calliope”.
It will feature newcomers Sandra Oh, James McAvoy, David and Georgia Tennant, Michael Sheen, Anna Lundberg, Arthur Darvill, and more.

Netflix’s hit fantasy series “The Sandman” hasn’t been renewed just yet, but if you want more from the adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s beloved comic book series, your dreams (sorry) just came true.
Right now you can watch “A Dream of A Thousand Cats/Calliope,” a brand new, surprise bonus episode of “The Sandman,” featuring guest stars Sandra Oh, Michael Shannon, James McAvoy, David Tennant, the great Derek Jacobi, and many more.
Like “The Sound of Her Wings” before it, “A Dream of A Thousand Cats/Calliope” combines two different “The Sandman” comic book stories for a single-episode story.
“Calliope,” directed by Louise Hooper and based on “The Sandman” issue #17, follows Richard Madoc, a one hit wonder novelist crippled by writer’s block who is offered a guaranteed cure — for a sickening and cruel price.

Thinking about where the characters of “Staged” end and the performers themselves begin was hard enough in the show’s opening season, a set of six episodes that debuted on the BBC in the early months of last year’s lockdown. The show saw Michael Sheen and David Tennant playing slightly outsized versions of themselves, fumbling through their attempts to put on a virtual play.
The show drew on their past working relationship while finding the precise right level of industry references to play with. Sheen and Tennant would make the occasional nod to their turns on “Good Omens” with some sprinkling of “Frost/Nixon” and “Doctor Who”-related jabs. (The season-long running gag about billing order was as delightful in its simplicity as it was in its execution.) Amidst failed rehearsals and spats over wounded prides, the main focus remained the evolution of their friendship while being wedged on opposite sides of the country.

Lockdown has inspired some great satirical art. Only yesterday I saw a dog waste bin in my local woods affixed with a picture of Dominic Cummings. Our movements, like those of the dogs of Blean Nature Reserve, may be contained, but our creativity runs free.
In the case of Staged, a six-part BBC One comedy starring David Tennant and Michael Sheen, containment was both inspiration and form. Conceived by Simon Evans and Phin Glyn, the series was made and set during UK lockdown. The episodes were all filmed, by necessity, inside the cast’s homes, and scenes were spliced with stock footage of the two main locations in London and Wales.
Unlike some lockdown TV projects which have been borne forth on a wave of gratitude for the efforts made to keep calm and telly on, Staged is the real deal. It’s perfectly suited to the format and properly funny.

The joke across the United Kingdom is that their entertainment industry has a grand total of twelve actors, six sets, and one tie. One need only look at the overlapping area on the Venn Diagram of actors who have appeared on both Doctor Who and in the Harry Potter film series to see it. One such actor is David Tennant, who appeared in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire as Bartemius Crouch Jr. in 2005 before going on to play one of the most beloved incarnations of the Doctor from Christmas Day of that year until the end of time, which, for him, aired in two parts on Christmas Day of 2009 and New Years Day of 2010.
Tennant’s son, the eldest child of his wife Georgia Moffett, has also caught the acting bug, and the 17-year-old has already put some thought into his potential Doctoral future. Asked in an interview...

As Doctor Who fans know, David Tennant played the Tenth Doctor – one of the most popular incarnations of the Time Lord – from 2005 to 2010. He then picked up the sonic screwdriver again for the 50th anniversary special “The Day of the Doctor.” But it turns out that there was another time Tennant returned to the role, too, that we never knew about. Until now, that is.
Back in 2013, Tennant teamed up with his wife Georgia Moffett to film a special home video as a present to their friend Gary Russell, a Doctor Who writer who was emigrating to Australia. The hilarious short has now made its way online, courtesy of the actress – who herself is a major figure in Who lore – and sees Tennant not only in character but also in full costume as the Tenth Doctor, parodying his own performance. He even references a proper plot point from the show.

Former “Doctor Who” actor Peter Davison is feeling fragile after learning that the 13th Doctor would be played by a woman, “Broadchurch” star Jodie Whittaker.
“If I feel any doubts, it’s the loss of a role model for boys who I think ‘Doctor Who’ is vitally important for,” Davison told the Telegraph before a San Diego Comic Con appearance. “So I feel a bit sad about that, but I understand the argument that you need to open it up.” Apparently, Davison feels a bit sad about a woman getting an opportunity.
He added that he thought Whittaker was a “terrific” actress, and called himself “a dinosaur.”

Davison played the fifth Doctor, from 1981-1984. He is also very enmeshed in the “Doctor Who” family, as he happens to be father-in-law to David Tenannt, the 1oth Doctor.

Feminism, equality of the sexes. Often when watching old movies, the sexism of the time can catch you off guard. Bums are pinched, bimbos bounce, old maids glower and you shake your head and sigh, glad that those times have (mostly) passed. So when we see classic films with strong, intelligent, impressive, witty, ambitious, feminist female characters, equals to their male counterparts, we sit up and take notice. There are many great classic films with impressive female characters, too many to list here. This article is about the characters that have inspired me personally.
