- I definitely have a strong sense of my Jewish and Israeli identity. I did my two year military service, I was brought up in a very Jewish, Israeli family environment, so of course my heritage is very important to me. I want people to have a good impression of Israel. I don't feel like I'm an ambassador for my country, but I do talk about Israel a lot - I enjoy telling people about where I come from and my religion.
- There aren't enough good roles for strong women. I wish we had more female writers. Most of the female characters you see in films today are "the poor heartbroken girl". That's why I'm so proud of the Fast movies. I feel like Giselle is an empowering woman.
- My height is 178 cm, which explains how I got on the high school basketball team. I was not an amazing shooter, but I ripped them on defense.
- [on Wonder Woman's smirk in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016)] I did that. I remember after we did that take, Zack [director Zack Snyder] came to me and he said, 'Did you just have a smirk?' I said 'Yeah.' And he asked, 'Why? I think I like it, but why?' 'Well if [Doomsday's] gonna mess with her, then she's gonna mess with him. And she knows she's gonna win.' At the end of the day Wonder Woman is a peace seeker. But when fight arrives, she can fight. She's a warrior and she enjoys the adrenaline of the fight.
- [on fan's backlash over her casting as Wonder Woman] They said that I was too skinny and my boobs were too small... They said my head was too big and my body was like a broomstick. I can take anything. It's just empty talk. I can understand that part of what I'm doing means being exposed. And part of being exposed is being under fire.
- When I auditioned for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016), I didn't know it was for Wonder Woman. The director, Zack Snyder, asked me to do a camera test. That was torture. They were looking at six or seven girls, and we were all in separate trailers and were told to stay inside until they called us. Waiting is my enemy Number One, and I was losing my mind. So, I decided to put on Beyonc. Who runs the world? Girls! I just started to dance, and I let my anxiety go. Thank you, Beyonc!
- [on whether she knew that the Wonder Woman film was going to be a hit] There's always how you feel about something but you never know how it's really going to be once it's all done and ready to go. It felt like it was special. When we shot the movie we were so invested and so thoughtful with every decision we made with the character and the story, I was so privileged to work with an amazingly phenomenal filmmaker, Patty Jenkins. But we didn't expect it to be so well received.
- [when asked if she was disappointed by the public's skepticism of a successful super heroine film] I've got to be honest and say not really. I read all the articles about how the previous female-led superhero movies didn't work out very well. It took over 13 years for the studio to really go and shoot Wonder Woman. But once the decision was made, I didn't fear. And after I witnessed how the audience reacted to Wonder Woman in Batman v Superman I was sure that it was going to do well, I just didn't know how well. Whenever I read those type of articles it got me boosted and more motivated to show that they're wrong.
- [on favorite scene from the first Wonder Woman movie] There were a bunch. There were favorite scenes to play, I loved shooting the watch scene, and the dance scene in the square. But watching the movie, I loved when Wonder Woman first revealed herself by crossing No Man's Land.
- Patty Jenkins and I could communicate with no words. I enjoyed filming every second of the movie [Wonder Woman].
