thanks

[edit]

Thank you for doing so much copyvio work. I'd love to help because I think it is important, but it's so complicated. Yeegh! -- mikeblas (talk) 02:25, 24 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Mikeblas Complicated, you say? Man, tell me about it! In a way, though, I feel lucky because I've found a niche that incorporates my two favourite pastimes: reading random Wikipedia articles, and reading random academic sources. And thank you for using your fancy-admin tools for dealing with copyright problems. The importance of that cannot be overstated. GreenLipstickLesbian (talk) 03:39, 24 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Happy to help. I think many of us are here for exactly that expanding read more broadly experience. -- mikeblas (talk) 13:47, 24 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Mikeblas Chin up. When it comes to trying to fix issues in contentious topics, there's a lot of eyes, a lot of heat, and everybody's on edge because there are a lot of bad actors at play. I mean, we literally have a Wikipedia article about editing in the area. And WP:CESSPIT earned its name for a reason. Do whatever you feel is best, but in a world where I have to remind admins that they can't copy paste text from sources, or that that they can't manually reinstate content copy pasted from sources, you're not half bad. The Editor's Barnstar
Seen you around a lot lately doing some great work with Copyright cleanup and making some other insightful comments. Thank you for all of your work :) Fathoms Below (talk) 13:05, 24 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Fathoms Below: Oh, thank goodness you've broken the ice so it's not weird for me to say this- I love all the work you've been doing on video game articles and bringing them up to quality status! I'm not a big gamer (but my friends are) so I've had to refer to many of these (such as Hollow Knight and Dead Cells) in my regular life. Thank you for all the time and effort you've put into these areas of Wikipedia. And thank you for the kind words. <3 GreenLipstickLesbian (talk) 21:28, 24 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Interpipe

[edit]

Things are out of control with editors clearly affiliated with Interpipe, the same ones who engaged in massive copyright violations, trying to add tendentious material. It would be greatly appreciated if you would have a look at Interpipe Group and intervene in the manner you see fit. 2600:100F:A110:60E3:8C6C:172A:2627:CE30 (talk) 11:07, 25 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I'm glad the discussion has started. Unfortunately, the IP user hasn't responded to the article's talk page.
@GreenLipstickLesbian, firstly, thanks for your previous page review. It was my mistake. I considered your comments on copyright and asked my mentor for assistance. I believe my contributions are much better now.
On COI claims from the IP user — I assume this person has COI as a competitor, tries to erase any other contributions, and labels everyone as having COI. Identity is hidden through using IP, so I can't understand if is it one person even. Another weird fact is that revertions were made on Fridays only (October 4, 18, and 25). It might be a sign of action by a PR agency.
I reported repetitive revertions on an admin page Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Edit warring
I would be glad if you could help again. Artpine98 (talk) 13:30, 25 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
